DAY:
Friday, Aug. 15, 2025
LOCATION:
Jim Santy Auditorium
DETAILS:
Food and music have long been sources of comfort, connection, and joy. But behind the scenes, the industries that bring these experiences to life are often defined by high-pressure environments, long hours, and blurred lines between the personal and professional. Join James Beard Award-winning chef Andrew Zimmern and Grammy-nominated artist Marcus King, alongside Colette Weintraub, Head of Stand Together Music, Sports, and Entertainment, as they discuss the mental health challenges in the culinary and music worlds and the balancing act in the pursuit of excellence. Together, they examine how the pursuit of purpose, meaning, and creative excellence does not have to be at the expense of finding belonging and a life of well-being.

Summit Labs
Summit Labs are the heartbeat of our event and are presented by the Song Summit Foundation. They are discussions that dissect, illuminate, and interrogate the art of music and songwriting. They create an environment of inclusivity that promotes discussion of mental health, substance recovery, representation, and social equity in addition to all things music. A diverse group of artists will lead talks on their own while others will work with subject experts. Labs take place at Jim Santy Auditorium in the City Park Library.
